We opened in 2019 with a single decision: everything would be made in our own kitchen. The desserts, the catering, the bakery — all prepared in-house.
That decision made the early years harder and the food better. It is why the cake at your table is the same cake we send to a wedding of 800, and why a corporate cafeteria contract gets the same kitchen as the restaurant on a Saturday night.

After two decades in hospitality leadership across Hyatt, JW Marriott and Rotana, Manouj built an independent restaurant around the standards he had spent a career learning.
Its name is personal. After missing his daughter’s birthday on 19 May because of hotel duty, he resolved to build something of his own, closer to family. Nineteenth May opened exactly one year later, on 19 May 2019.
